I'm Going off to Kansas... to Kansas... to Kansas...
I'm in Kansas!
It's been a busy week. On Tuesday I did more work on re-editing my demo reel and I went to two improv shows. On Wednesday I went to the beach again -- I went a few weeks ago and went back to watch more surfing. I love the ocean.
Then I went to a few UCB shows that night. On Thursday I went to a couple events at The Actors' Network and then the CAPE summer mixer in the evening -- that's the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (I think). People kept asking me all night where I'm from, by which they really meant, "Are you Asian?" I did have some people tell me I look like I could be part Asian, and that I look exotic. Sounds good to me!
On Friday I had to wake up early (blah!) to fly to Kansas. I packed my leftovers for the plane, with a big bunch of steamed broccoli and my leftover "cheesy" rice.
I also ate a grapefruit on my flight, much to the chagrin of the dude sitting next to me. Sorry!
I'm here to visit my dad all week, and my mom, stepdad, and brother drove out from Indiana. We met up in Kansas City but first my dad, stepmom, and me had some time to kill so we walked around the Plaza. It is HOT here -- over 100 degrees, and in the nineties even after dark. Crazy. We stepped into the Barnes and Noble to cool down and saw these books:
As my dad said, "Math doesn't suck... but I do." These books just cracked me up because the covers look so cheap, like a cheesy porno. Of course pretty girls can be good at math but I still find these covers a tad strange and definitely funny.
After we tore our eyes away from sexy math books, we went to a free Gavin DeGraw concert! His voice is incredible, and he sounds exactly the same live as he does on his CDs.
I was going to write about what we did today, but this post is getting long. I'll share my pretty pictures tomorrow. :)
