Nature Mart Soup Mixes; Sketch Comedy Filming

Today was my first day of filming for the Somebody's Basement Sketch Comedy Troupe! The sketch went GREAT! The audience laughed like crazy and I had tons of people come up to me afterwards and say how funny they thought it was. I'm so glad it turned out well. Doing comedy is always a little bit nerve-racking because you don't know if people will laugh so it feels so, so good when they do.

I started my day off with Skype and an interesting breakfast of lentil soup and broccoli slaw. I've written before about Nature Mart, my beloved bulk bin heaven, and their vegan corn chowder and curry lentil dry soup mixes. They're easy, delicious, super healthy, have no oil, and are low in sodium. Really I think they're superior in every way to canned soup. I fell in love and went back to Nature Mart recently and bought big bags of each.

I've been eating the soup regularly recently. Just add hot water, or add normal water and microwave!

After breakfast and Skype I got ready. Today's theme was pink, pigtails, and more pink!

The character is a high school freshman, doing laundry at home. So yoga pants just made sense.

Transfer of Life Safety Code Oversight from CDPHE to DPS in accordance with HB 12-1268: Progress Report

Facility Administrators Please click here to find a progress report on the implementation of House Bill 12-1268 which transfers Life Safety Code (LSC) oversight from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) effective July 1, 2013. Both agencies will be involved in licensure and Medicare/Medicaid certification of facilities (for hospice this only includes those with inpatient beds), so to date, HB1268 implementation has focused on the new infrastructure needed to transition responsibility and create a smooth workflow between CDPHE to DPS. The next phase of implementation will be more focused on stakeholder involvement regarding licensure regulations and new administrative processes associated with obtaining and renewing licensure and certification. Quinoa Salad and My Busy Life

On Friday night a (vegan) friend of mine hosted a potluck with about ten friends. I wanted to bring something tasty but also healthy that I would want to eat if I got stuck with leftovers, so I made a big quinoa salad! And then I kept a lot of it for me. =) I just cooked up some quinoa and added a can of chickpeas, a red onion, a few carrots, a few cucumbers, and a miso seasoning. I used this cool stuff I found at Gelsons the other day: It makes instant miso soup but also works great as a sauce. I also added spicy mustard and rice wine vinegar. I ate quinoa salad leftovers on lettuce and spinach for the next couple days. Yum. On Monday I started my improv 201 classes! I'm loving them already. My day was jam-packed and I was out of the house from 10 AM to 11:30 PM. I brought an apple, a grapefruit, and some edamame to eat throughout the day.
