Never, Ever Give Up. Arthur’s Inspirational Transformation!

Image
Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again. He stumbled upon an article about Diamond Dallas Page doing Yoga and decided to give it a try -- he couldn't do traditional, higher impact exercise, so he tried DDP YOGA and sent an email to Dallas telling him his story. Dallas was so moved by his story, he began emailing and speaking on the phone with Arthur throughout his journey - he encouraged Arthur to keep going and to believe that anything was possible. Even though doctors told him walking would never happen, Arthur was persistent. He fell many times, but kept going. Arthur was getting stronger rapidly, and he was losing weight at an incredible rate! Because of DDP's specialized workout, he gained tremendous balance and flexibility -- which gave him hope that maybe someday he'd be able to walk again. His story is proof, that we cannot place limits on what we are c...

Single-Dose or Multi -Dose? Not all vials are created equal

This message is being sent on behalf of the Disease Control and Environmental Epidemiology Division at CDPHE. The campaign aims to eradicate outbreaks resulting from unsafe injection practices. CDPHE, CDC and SIPC urge all healthcare providers to know the difference between single-dose and multiple-dose vials. The One & Only Campaign recently launched an interactive infographic that walks healthcare providers through the safe use of vials from various perspectives - providers, office managers, and patients - and concludes with a quick quiz to test your knowledge of medication vials. The infographic is available in two format...

Recent Update To the Online License Application

To improve the customer experience we recently made some changes to the online license application process. This change allows for the non-profit ownership type to be selected in the application building survey. There was an unexpected consequence of this update. All applications that had been started but not submitted as of 6:30 am on Tuesday 10/22/13 will need to complete the application building survey again. If you had submitted your application prior to 6:30 am yesterday you are unaffected. If you have not yet started your application you also are unaffected. We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to make any service improvements more seamless in the future. Thank you and have a great day. Hawaii and Mexico on Forefront of GMO Bans

Image
By: Amanda Froelich,  True Activist. , Guest The latest news regarding opposition to GMO crops comes from two actions passed in Hawaii and by Mexico. Limiting pesticides, herbicides, and genetically-modified food sources in exchange for natural, organic options is a vision of the people which continues to make progress! Hawaii For bio-tech companies, life in paradise just got a lot tougher. Firms such as  DuPont Pioneer  and  BASF  have long used the Hawaiian island of Kauai as a testing ground for GMO crops and pesticides; however, now the island’s County Council has  passed a law  clamping down on the field tests. Last week  Bill 2491  was passed, introducing new strict regulations. It set up a study of health effects of the pesticides, and establishes buffer zones around schools, parks, and homes where the crops can’t be tested. Most controversially, the bill also says the agricultural companies must disclose which pesticides and genetical...

Wholegrains - the whole story

When I was young, no one sold breakfast cereals by talking about grains. They talked about taste (sweetness), about exciting new shapes, about nutritional fortification, and also drove children to a frenzy collecting useless trinkets inside their favourite cereal boxes. After the Smurfs and hero figures, came the next great marketing idea – wholegrain. This genius description was in part derived from the medically endorsed advice to increase fibre intake, which captured the imagination of the bowel movement obsessed middle classes. My father was either so afraid of or so enraptured by this craze that he used to sprinkle bran onto almost everything he ate. Where did this word come from? What does it mean? At a food show not so long ago I met a very self satisfied marketing man who professed to have invented the introduction of the term ‘wholegrain’. Older and wiser, I held myself back from physical violence, and sated my frustration with a rant, which is much more entertaining. Wh...

Top 10 most unhealthy, cancer-causing foods – never eat these again!

Image
By: Jonathan Benson, staff writer, NaturalNews . The statement “everything causes cancer” has become a popular hyperbole, and one that some people use as rhetorical fodder to excuse their own dietary and lifestyle failures, particularly as they pertain to cancer risk. But the truth of the matter is that many common food items have, indeed, been scientifically shown to increase cancer risk, and some of them substantially. Here are 10 of the most unhealthy, cancer-causing foods that you should never eat again: 1) Genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) . It goes without saying that GMOs have no legitimate place in any cancer-free diet, especially now that both GMOs and the chemicals used to grow them have been shown to cause rapid tumor growth. But GMOs are everywhere, including in most food derivatives made from conventional corn, soybeans, and canola. However, you can avoid them by sticking with certified organic, certified non-GMO verified, and locally-grown foods that are produced natu...

Busted! Mythbusters Banned From Talking About RFID Chips

Image
In what has become a controversial story as time goes on, due to the increasing research into RFID technology, it still remains a little unclear as to exactly why Mythbusters was not able to do a show discussing RFID technology. As Adam Savage, co-host of Mythbusters, stated himself  ”We were going to do RFID and on several levels, you know, how hackable, how reliable, how trackable, etc.” But this idea was met with resistance as the show’s producers began looking into the technology and speaking with companies involved in RFID use and production. Adam stated at ‘The Last Hope Conference’ that Texas Instruments and the chief legal advisor of almost all major credit card companies was completely opposed to allowing Mythbusters and Discovery do the show. As you will see in the video below, Adam feels rather taken aback out by the strength of the alleged decision from TI and others involved. Where the story gets even more interesting is when Adam decided to retract the statements he i...
